Statistics are real people

(I have updated this post because after mulling it over all day, I decided I had not conveyed my feelings correctly.)

We've all heard the numbers over and over, but I want to share them again for the effect. These statistics aren't just numbers, they are people we love that are no longer here. These numbers are very painful to digest.  This article not only puts the numbers into perspective to better grasp an understanding, it also sheds light on an interesting aspect that has contributed to the epidemic. More and more, public health departments across the country are implementing new ideas and programs to stop this epidemic. Shelby County Health Department is on board in the mission to end the overdoses and I'll be able to expand more on that soon. In the meantime, take a look at this article and tell me what you think: It's OK to get help! #doitforshelby https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/opioids-drug-overdose-killed-more-americans-last-year-than-the-vietnam-war/
