Addiction Awareness Events

This is an addiction awareness event that will be held on Thursday August 24, 6-8 pm at Longview Baptist Church 4501 Goodman Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654 There will be speakers there talking about how you can help an addicted loved one, how to save a loved one from an overdose and even how one might can prevent someone from ever becoming addicted. This is a great way for the community to come together and network to gain knowledge and resources. I will be attending this event. Please contact Angela Q. at (901) 484-1929 for more info. This event is a free workshop showing recovery and potential relapse by examining the behavioral stages of change. Tim Hilton, a community liaison for Bradford Health will be leading the workshop.

Overdose Awareness Day Candlelight Vigil Thursday 8/31 Martyr's Park, Channel 3 Dr, Memphis, TN 38103 The Harahan de Soto Bridge over the Mississippi River will officially be lit up purple for Overdose Awareness Day Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis will all have their main bridges lit purple for this day of remembrance. This is going to be a wonderful way for these three cities to show solidarity for this important cause that is affecting all of Tennessee. Won't you please join us as we come together to honor our loved ones we have lost to this horrible epidemic. I will be attending this event. Bring Addiction Out Of the Darkness This is a free community fest, a rally for recovery, with music, the Fuel Café food truck and most importantly recovery and prevention talks. We need to get people talking! Bring addiction out of the darkness and into the light! There will be medical professionals on hand to help the community learn more about prevention and how to possibly save lives. I will be there to join in the conversations, will you?
