International Overdose Awareness Day 8/31/18
International Overdose Awareness Day is coming up quickly and I wanted to let you all know about 2 events I will be attending.
The first event is being hosted by Turning Point Recovery in Southaven, MS. There will be speakers, including myself and Carol Lemay of Wings of Hope, who is a valuable asset to our Mid South community. Lunch will be served and there will be a tour of the center as well as a butterfly release to honor our loved ones we have lost to the Opioid Epidemic. It is being held at Turning Point on Friday, August 31st from 11am-1pm (may run a wee b later than that!). Please join us if you are able.
The other event is being held at The Church of the River and Big River Crossing. This event is being hosted by Lisa and Ron Bobal of the A Betor Way Organization. A Betor Way is a non profit organization dedicated to helping those who are victims of the disease of addiction get the help they need. There will be a candlelight vigil to honor our loved ones who have fallen victim to this horrible epidemic. Also, there will be speakers, live music and a slideshow with photos of our loved ones. This event starts at 6pm on Friday, August 31st so please join us at this event as well, if you are able.
